No one knows me better than God. It’s the artist that fully understands all that their abstract painting represents. The creator is the one who best defines their creation. They, more than others, realize their masterpiece’s full potential and purpose. While engaging in the process of completing my Life Plan, I discovered like the psalmist in Psalm 139:14, that “I am fearfully and wonderfully made.”
My goal in going through the almost twenty-hour microscopic Life Plan, was to maximize my remaining years on earth. I want to give my all for God’s glory and I knew that entailed me getting to know myself on a more intimate scale. Understanding my sweet spot, the place where my passions, strengths, and motivations intersect, would accomplish that desire.
I discovered my number one motivator is to influence behavior. I love to elicit a response from my audience, to connect with them on a heart level, making them laugh or cry. My second highest motivation comes when I experience the ideal. I need to express my values that are important to me and to live them out with integrity. These two motivations explain why I must write and speak.
While mapping out my timeline and observing my high and low points in my memory bank, it was obvious my bulls-eye is when I’m fully authentic and obedient to God. When I’m true to myself, wholly genuine, and doing what God has asked me to do, then I’m most fulfilled. My boat is rocked though, when fear of man sneaks in, and my integrity and obedience is compromised.
My life’s purpose, why God created me, is to mentor the masses through speaking and writing, restoring wholeness and intimacy with God and those they care about, as they in turn mentor others. If I stay true to my calling, I will not only feel satisfied and God will be glorified, but when I die, I will hear my heavenly Father say, “Well done, good and faithful servant!” (Matthew 25:21a) My life can’t get any better than that!
